On April 5, 2017, the SLA & WISLaw hosted an Outreach Event at Chase Field (Phoenix, Arizona) before the Arizona Diamondbacks game vs. the San Francisco Giants.  The event featured a panel entitled Women in Sports Law.  Panelists included Nona M. Lee (Senior Vice President and General Counsel for the Arizona Diamondbacks & WISLaw member), Maria Baier (Senior Vice President, Public Affairs for the Phoenix Suns), Marina Mercer (Associate General Counsel for the Arizona Coyotes), and Katie Koone Renaut (Coordinator of Athletics Compliance for Arizona State University).  Maacah Scott (Staff Counsel for the Arizona Diamondbacks) served as the moderator.

Each panelist discussed her role and responsibilities, career journey, leadership advice, and gender-related challenges in the industry.  The panelists also answered general questions from attendees and provided insight on breaking into the sports law industry.  The event concluded with networking during the game as the D-backs claimed an 8-6 win over the Giants.
