The yearly sports law conference of the Ius et Sport Association hosted by the Universitas Varsoviensis on the 12 and 13 April 2018 in Warsaw (Poland) entitled “Prawo Sport Finase” (Law Sport Finance) hosted a WISLaw keynote lecture.
On the first day of conference, WISLaw friend Maciej Bałaziński talked about the equivalent for training a player in light of the FIFA provisions exemplified by transfers of players under 23 years old. On the second day, Melanie Schärer (WISLaw founding member/MS Entertainment Law) explained the importance and influence of Swiss law in international football transfers, followed by Agata Kowalska (WISLaw member/Chabasiewicz Kowalska i Partnerzy) who talked about the influence of the GDPR (personal data protection) on the functioning of football clubs and finally, Karolina Skrzypczyk (WISLaw member/LSW) explained the disciplinary proceedings of UEFA regarding racism.
It was a sports law conference packed with highly specialized topics from all angles of sports law with highly academic discussions among the participants.
