WISLaw & Sport Resolutions Breakfast
Sport Resolutions is hosting a networking breakfast event in association with Women in Sports Law (WISLaw) from 8 am to 9 am, aimed at encouraging female professionals to meet and share insights during their annual conference.
Mathilde Lefranc-Barthe from Winston Strawn LLP’s Paris office will be providing her perspective on Simidele Adeagbo’s fight to end gender-based discrimination in her sport and her claim against the International Olympic Committee and the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation.
The Nigerian monobob and skeleton athlete, Simidele Adeagbo, made history as the first Nigerian to compete at the Winter Olympics when she became the first black female Olympian in the sport of skeleton. Represented by Winston & Strawn LLP, she hopes to overturn qualification regulations for the Winter Olympics after missing out on a spot at the Beijing Games in 2022 due to fewer spots available for women than men in bobsleigh and skeleton. In the four-man bobsled event, 28 sled spots are reserved for men, and 30 spots for the two-man competition, while women are allotted 20 spots in the monobob and 20 in the two-woman bobsled.
The networking breakfast is only open to conference ticket holders. Sport Resolutions are happy to provide a 20% discount for WISLaw members if they wish to join in-person.
🚩 The conference will take place on Thursday 2nd May at the five-star Leonardo Royal London St Paul’s Hotel, in London.
🚩 The event will have five sessions, which includes three sessions in the morning followed by a buffet lunch and further two sessions in the afternoon.
🚩 After the conference there will be a networking drinks reception in the hotel’s bar sponsored by Winston & Strawn LLP
