Ms. Kajri Roy is a legal professional with a distinguished career in the field of sports law. A graduate of Amity Law School, she furthered her academic pursuits with a Master’s degree in International Sports Law from the prestigious ISDE Madrid, Spain, emerging as one of the few Indian women in her cohort to represent the country on such a global platform.

Before embarking on her specialised journey in sports law, Ms. Roy was associated with the Dispute Resolution team in Khaitan & Co., one of India’s leading Tier-1 law firms. Her experience at Khaitan & Co. laid a strong foundation in high-stakes commercial litigation and arbitration, equipping her with robust legal acumen and analytical precision that continue to inform her practice in the sports domain.

Currently serving as Legal Advisor to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Ms. Roy has been at the forefront of high-profile legal work involving litigation, contract negotiation, and governance advisory. Her advisory and governance expertise has been instrumental in matters pertaining to the Indian Premier League (IPL), constitutional issues, and strategic decision-making processes within Indian and international sports bodies.

Ms. Roy has also contributed significantly to broader policy development in Indian sports. She has worked with the Sports Authority of India and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, where she played a pivotal role in shaping the Draft National Sports Governance Bill, 2024.

Adding to her growing list of international affiliations, Ms. Roy has recently been appointed as the Indian Brand Ambassador for the ITTI Sports Institute, a reputed international education platform based in Europe.

Deeply committed to nurturing the next generation of legal professionals, Ms. Roy has also been actively engaging with law students through guest lectures at institutions such as NLUJA Assam, where she has previously delivered a session introducing students to the field of sports law and UPES Dehradun, sharing insights from her career with humility and the hope of sparking interest in this still-niche but rapidly evolving field.
