The WISLaw event took place in the Gaffney Room of the Bar Council Distillery Building on Friday, February 8th, 2019, in conjunction with the Sports Law Conference, 2019. Ailis McSweeney, an Irish sprinter, spoke to the group about wellbeing at work.

Ailis previously worked as a solicitor and she now works with a company called Pep Talk Well Being which focuses on encouraging wellbeing in the workplace. Her presentation was an interesting one. She spoke about keeping a gratitude journal and how this helped her to keep a positive attitude. She encouraged the audience not to feel guilty about leaving work at an appropriate time to make it home for tea!

The audience was very engaged in the presentation and there was some great feedback in relation to stress at work and how to deal with this, particularly where there are tight deadlines to be met. It was a wonderful event and the participants thoroughly enjoyed it.
