WISLaw
Senior Competition Lawyer at Dentons; Vice-President of the Badminton World Federation; Board Member of Badminton Europe; former international badminton player.
In my role as Senior Associate at Dentons, I work on both contentious and non-contentious competition law cases. My practice includes advising on cartel investigations and litigation, M&A deals and regulatory/governance issues. I work for clients across sectors. In the sport sector specifically, I have particular experience advising on the topic of new leagues/competition structures being established, and on governance questions.
I am the Vice-President (Europe) of the Badminton World Federation. Along with my fellow Board members, we set the strategic direction of the organisation and mandate the future of the sport of badminton. In addition, my role includes representing the IF in Europe, as well as representing the European views during decision making processes.
On the BadmintonEurope side (i.e. the sport's continental federation), I am part of the Board of Directors setting the strategic direction of the organisations. We recently conducted a significant governance review, making significant changes and updates to the organisation's Rules, including introducing term limits and gender quotas, instating a nominations committee and changing the electoral processes. I am also Chair of the Development Committee, leading the team responsible for the sport's grassroots and high-performance development.
